帖撒罗尼迦前书第5章

¹弟 兄 们 ， 论 到 时 候 、 日 期 ， 不 用 写 信 给 你 们 ；But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

²因 为 你 们 自 己 明 明 晓 得 ， 主 的 日 子 来 到 ， 好 像 夜 间 的 贼 一 样 。For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

³人 正 说 平 安 稳 妥 的 时 候 ， 灾 祸 忽 然 临 到 他 们 ， 如 同 产 难 临 到 怀 胎 的 妇 人 一 样 。 他 们 绝 不 能 逃 脱 。For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

⁴弟 兄 们 ， 你 们 却 不 在 黑 暗 里 ， 叫 那 日 子 临 到 你 们 像 贼 一 样 。But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

⁵你 们 都 是 光 明 之 子 ， 都 是 白 昼 之 子 。 我 们 不 是 属 黑 夜 的 ， 也 不 是 属 幽 暗 的 。Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

⁶所 以 我 们 不 要 睡 觉 像 别 人 一 样 ， 总 要 儆 醒 谨 守 。Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

⁷因 为 睡 了 的 人 是 在 夜 间 睡 ， 醉 了 的 人 是 在 夜 间 醉 。For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

⁸但 我 们 既 然 属 乎 白 昼 ， 就 应 当 谨 守 ， 把 信 和 爱 当 作 护 心 镜 遮 胸 ， 把 得 救 的 盼 望 当 作 头 盔 戴 上 。But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

⁹因 为 神 不 是 预 定 我 们 受 刑 ， 乃 是 预 定 我 们 藉 着 我 们 主 耶 稣 基 督 得 救 。For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁰他 替 我 们 死 ， 叫 我 们 无 论 醒 着 、 睡 着 ， 都 与 他 同 活 。Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹¹所 以 ， 你 们 该 彼 此 劝 慰 ， 互 相 建 立 ， 正 如 你 们 素 常 所 行 的 。Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

¹²弟 兄 们 ， 我 们 劝 你 们 敬 重 那 在 你 们 中 间 劳 苦 的 人 ， 就 是 在 主 里 面 治 理 你 们 、 劝 戒 你 们 的 。And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

¹³又 因 他 们 所 做 的 工 ， 用 爱 心 格 外 尊 重 他 们 。 你 们 也 要 彼 此 和 睦 。And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

¹⁴我 们 又 劝 弟 兄 们 ， 要 警 戒 不 守 规 矩 的 人 ， 勉 励 灰 心 的 人 ， 扶 助 软 弱 的 人 ， 也 要 向 众 人 忍 耐 。Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men .

¹⁵你 们 要 谨 慎 ， 无 论 是 谁 都 不 可 以 恶 报 恶 ； 或 是 彼 此 相 待 ， 或 是 待 众 人 ， 常 要 追 求 良 善 。See that none render evil for evil unto any man ; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men .

¹⁶要 常 常 喜 乐 ，Rejoice evermore.

¹⁷不 住 的 祷 告 ，Pray without ceasing.

¹⁸凡 事 谢 恩 ； 因 为 这 是 神 在 基 督 耶 稣 里 向 你 们 所 定 的 旨 意 。In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

¹⁹不 要 销 灭 圣 灵 的 感 动 ；Quench not the Spirit.

²⁰不 要 藐 视 先 知 的 讲 论 。Despise not prophesyings.

²¹但 要 凡 事 察 验 ， 善 美 的 要 持 守 ，Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

²²各 样 的 恶 事 要 禁 戒 不 做 。Abstain from all appearance of evil.

²³愿 赐 平 安 的 神 亲 自 使 你 们 全 然 成 圣 ！ 又 愿 你 们 的 灵 与 魂 与 身 子 得 蒙 保 守 ， 在 我 主 耶 稣 基 督 降 临 的 时 候 ， 完 全 无 可 指 摘 ！And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴那 召 你 们 的 本 是 信 实 的 ， 他 必 成 就 这 事 。Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it .

²⁵请 弟 兄 们 为 我 们 祷 告 。Brethren, pray for us.

²⁶与 众 弟 兄 亲 嘴 问 安 ， 务 要 圣 洁 。Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

²⁷我 指 着 主 嘱 咐 你 们 ， 要 把 这 信 念 给 众 弟 兄 听 。I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

²⁸愿 我 主 耶 稣 基 督 的 恩 常 与 你 们 同 在 ！The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
