约翰二书第1章
概览
约翰以「作长老的」身分写信给「蒙拣选的太太和她的儿女」，一开始就流露牧者的温情，因看见她的几个儿女「按真理而行」而欢喜（约翰二书1:1-4）。他把真理与爱编织在一起、不可分割：彼此相爱的命令并非新命令，乃是从起初所听见的旧道，而爱本身就被界定为遵行神命令而行（约翰二书1:5-6）。信随即转向写作的缘由：有「许多迷惑人的」已经出来到了世上，他们不认耶稣基督是成了肉身来的，这样的人就是「那迷惑人、敌基督的」（约翰二书1:7）。约翰劝读者要小心，免得失去他们所做的工，乃要得着满足的赏赐，并警告凡「越过」基督教训、不常守这教训的，就没有神（约翰二书1:8-9）。他最尖锐地禁止向任何带来另一种教训的人提供接待、甚至连问安都不可，因为向这样的人问安就是在他的恶行上有分（约翰二书1:10-11）。最后他保留其余的话，留待面对面探访时再说，使他们的喜乐得以满足，并代蒙拣选之姊妹的儿女问安（约翰二书1:12-13）。
1作 长 老 的 写 信 给 蒙 拣 选 的 太 太 （ 或 作 ： 教 会 ； 下 同 ） ， 和 他 的 儿 女 ， 就 是 我 诚 心 所 爱 的 ； 不 但 我 爱 ， 也 是 一 切 知 道 真 理 之 人 所 爱 的 。The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
2爱 你 们 是 为 真 理 的 缘 故 ， 这 真 理 存 在 我 们 里 面 ， 也 必 永 远 与 我 们 同 在 。For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
3恩 惠 ， 怜 悯 ， 平 安 从 父 神 和 他 儿 子 耶 稣 基 督 在 真 理 和 爱 心 上 必 常 与 我 们 同 在 ！Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4我 见 你 的 儿 女 ， 有 照 我 们 从 父 所 受 之 命 令 遵 行 真 理 的 ， 就 甚 欢 喜 。I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
5太 太 阿 ， 我 现 在 劝 你 ， 我 们 大 家 要 彼 此 相 爱 。 这 并 不 是 我 写 一 条 新 命 令 给 你 ， 乃 是 我 们 从 起 初 所 受 的 命 令 。And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
6我 们 若 照 他 的 命 令 行 ， 这 就 是 爱 。 你 们 从 起 初 所 听 见 当 行 的 ， 就 是 这 命 令 。And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
7因 为 世 上 有 许 多 迷 惑 人 的 出 来 ， 他 们 不 认 耶 稣 基 督 是 成 了 肉 身 来 的 ； 这 就 是 那 迷 惑 人 、 敌 基 督 的 。For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8你 们 要 小 心 ， 不 要 失 去 你 们 （ 有 古 卷 ： 我 们 ） 所 做 的 工 ， 乃 要 得 着 满 足 的 赏 赐 。Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9凡 越 过 基 督 的 教 训 、 不 常 守 着 的 ， 就 没 有 神 ； 常 守 这 教 训 的 ， 就 有 父 又 有 子 。Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10若 有 人 到 你 们 那 里 ， 不 是 传 这 教 训 ， 不 要 接 他 到 家 里 ， 也 不 要 问 他 的 安 ；If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11因 为 问 他 安 的 ， 就 在 他 的 恶 行 上 有 分 。For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
12我 还 有 许 多 事 要 写 给 你 们 ， 却 不 愿 意 用 纸 墨 写 出 来 ， 但 盼 望 到 你 们 那 里 ， 与 你 们 当 面 谈 论 ， 使 你 们 的 喜 乐 满 足 。Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
13你 那 蒙 拣 选 之 姊 妹 的 儿 女 都 问 你 安 。The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
