箴言第26章

¹夏 天 落 雪 ， 收 割 时 下 雨 ， 都 不 相 宜 ； 愚 昧 人 得 尊 荣 也 是 如 此 。As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.

²麻 雀 往 来 ， 燕 子 翻 飞 ； 这 样 ， 无 故 的 咒 诅 也 必 不 临 到 。As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

³鞭 子 是 为 打 马 ， 辔 头 是 为 勒 驴 ； 刑 杖 是 为 打 愚 昧 人 的 背 。A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.

⁴不 要 照 愚 昧 人 的 愚 妄 话 回 答 他 ， 恐 怕 你 与 他 一 样 。Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

⁵要 照 愚 昧 人 的 愚 妄 话 回 答 他 ， 免 得 他 自 以 为 有 智 慧 。Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

⁶藉 愚 昧 人 手 寄 信 的 ， 是 砍 断 自 己 的 脚 ， 自 受 （ 原 文 是 ： 喝 ） 损 害 。He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.

⁷瘸 子 的 脚 空 存 无 用 ； 箴 言 在 愚 昧 人 的 口 中 也 是 如 此 。The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

⁸将 尊 荣 给 愚 昧 人 的 ， 好 像 人 把 石 子 包 在 机 弦 里 。As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.

⁹箴 言 在 愚 昧 人 的 口 中 ， 好 像 荆 棘 刺 入 醉 汉 的 手 。As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

¹⁰雇 愚 昧 人 的 ， 与 雇 过 路 人 的 ， 就 像 射 伤 众 人 的 弓 箭 手 。The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.

¹¹愚 昧 人 行 愚 妄 事 ， 行 了 又 行 ， 就 如 狗 转 过 来 吃 他 所 吐 的 。As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

¹²你 见 自 以 为 有 智 慧 的 人 麽 ？ 愚 昧 人 比 他 更 有 指 望 。Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

¹³懒 惰 人 说 ： 道 上 有 猛 狮 ， 街 上 有 壮 狮 。The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.

¹⁴门 在 枢 纽 转 动 ， 懒 惰 人 在 床 上 也 是 如 此 。As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.

¹⁵懒 惰 人 放 手 在 盘 子 里 ， 就 是 向 口 撤 回 也 以 为 劳 乏 。The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.

¹⁶懒 惰 人 看 自 己 比 七 个 善 於 应 对 的 人 更 有 智 慧 。The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

¹⁷过 路 被 事 激 动 ， 管 理 不 干 己 的 争 竞 ， 好 像 人 揪 住 狗 耳 。He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.

¹⁸人 欺 凌 邻 舍 ， 却 说 ： 我 岂 不 是 戏 耍 麽 ？ 他 就 像 疯 狂 的 人 抛 掷 火 把 、 利 箭 ， 与 杀 人 的 兵 器 （ 原 文 是 死 亡 ） 。As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,

¹⁹aSo is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?

²⁰火 缺 了 柴 就 必 熄 灭 ； 无 人 传 舌 ， 争 竞 便 止 息 。Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

²¹好 争 竞 的 人 煽 惑 争 端 ， 就 如 馀 火 加 炭 ， 火 上 加 柴 一 样 。As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

²²传 舌 人 的 言 语 ， 如 同 美 食 ， 深 入 人 的 心 腹 。The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

²³火 热 的 嘴 ， 奸 恶 的 心 ， 好 像 银 渣 包 的 瓦 器 。Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.

²⁴怨 恨 人 的 ， 用 嘴 粉 饰 ， 心 里 却 藏 着 诡 诈 ；He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;

²⁵他 用 甜 言 蜜 语 ， 你 不 可 信 他 ， 因 为 他 心 中 有 七 样 可 憎 恶 的 。When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.

²⁶他 虽 用 诡 诈 遮 掩 自 己 的 怨 恨 ， 他 的 邪 恶 必 在 会 中 显 露 。Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.

²⁷挖 陷 坑 的 ， 自 己 必 掉 在 其 中 ； 滚 石 头 的 ， 石 头 必 反 滚 在 他 身 上 。Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

²⁸虚 谎 的 舌 恨 他 所 压 伤 的 人 ； 谄 媚 的 口 败 坏 人 的 事 。A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
