Eve

Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.Genesis 3:20

Biography

Eve was the first woman, created by God from Adam's rib as a 'helper suitable' for him. She lived in perfect harmony with God in the Garden of Eden. Deceived by the serpent, she ate the forbidden fruit and gave some to Adam, leading to humanity's fall. She bore children including Cain, Abel, and Seth. Despite her role in the fall, she is called the 'mother of all the living' and remained under God's covenantal care.

Spiritual Lesson

Eve's story warns about the danger of distorting God's word and yielding to subtle deception. Yet it also shows that God does not abandon us in our failures. The first promise given after the fall — that her offspring would crush the serpent's head — points directly to Christ's ultimate victory over sin and death.
