Privacy Policy

Effective July 5, 2026

In one sentence: KairOS has no accounts, asks for no personal information, and keeps your reading life on your own device. Here is exactly what that means.

What stays on your device

Your language preference, Bible reading position, reading-plan progress and streaks, favorites and bookmarks, recently viewed items, and interface settings are stored in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device, we cannot see them, and clearing your browser data removes them completely.

What we count

To understand which content serves people well, KairOS keeps anonymous, aggregate counters — for example how many times the site was visited in each language, or how often a content type was read, liked, or shared. These counters contain no names, no email addresses, no account identifiers, and no way to trace activity back to you. Our hosting provider (Vercel) also collects standard aggregate web analytics and keeps ordinary server request logs.

Region detection

The Church Finder currently covers churches in the United States, so the page checks your browser’s time-zone setting to decide whether to enable it. This check runs entirely in your browser — the result is not stored and not sent to us. We never ask for, or collect, your precise location.

When you use “Chat AI”

Some content offers a “Chat AI” button that copies the passage and opens an external AI service you choose (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, or Doubao). Anything you send there is handled under that provider’s own privacy policy — KairOS does not receive or store your conversation.

When you email us

If you write to support@kair-os.org — including prayer requests — we see your email address and whatever you choose to share. We use it only to respond to you and to pray for you; we do not add you to mailing lists or share your message with anyone.

Cookies

KairOS sets no advertising or tracking cookies for visitors. Your preferences live in local storage, not cookies. The only cookie on this site is an administrative sign-in used by the site’s own maintainers.

Children

KairOS is a public website open to readers of every age, and because we collect no personal information, we knowingly collect none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If KairOS ever adds features that change what is collected — for example accounts or a prayer wall — this page will be updated first, with a new effective date, before those features launch.
